Mid 2023 Update

Hey,

this edition starts with the latest AI Branding Use case and ends with a very technical, engineering focussed Design System stuff. Feel free to scroll down.

Using Firefly inside Adobe Photoshop (Beta) and modify an existing PSD mockup to create a completely unique environment

Pick any downloaded PSD and switch all the layers off. Leave one or two layers visible, just to let Photoshop know the correct perspective:

Type "scratches and cracks on the surface" and hit "Generate"

Select the area where you want your idea to appear, for example cracks and scratches on the solid background.

The method works on real life photography too. I selected the wals with the polygon lasso and I typed "rundown building, spray painted and cracked wall"

Revamp your design strategy with the use of variables

Introduced in June 2023, these versatile elements can be used across various design properties, significantly saving time and reducing effort in designing and managing complex systems.

“Variables”, akin to time-saving shortcuts, enable you to seamlessly toggle between different colour themes like light, dark or any custom modes (“switch to GenZ style”).

They also allow language change to examine how the text adapts across different languages on the UI:

To illustrate, you can employ variables to transform a frame according to different device sizes or color schemes and immediately update spacing per your spatial system.

Take your Design System up a notch with our new variables feature at hypeless.io/figma-design-system.
